'Batty about Bats' in Year 2

A big thank you to Mrs C Reilly for bringing in a bat she rescued. Mrs Reilly is a volunteer with the Northern Ireland Bat Group. We learned all about bats:

This bat is called a pipistrelle bat.

Bats are mammals.

This was an adult male bat.

Bats eat live food such as mealworms and midges.

Bats have 2 thumbs and 8 fingers.

Bats hibernate during the winter.

A bat’s feet point backwards, which helps them hang upside down.
