Year 6 Vikings Topic Class Trip

26th Oct 2023

Our Year 6 class had a wonderful class trip to Enniskillen Castle Museum as part of their class topic ‘The Vikings’.

The castle have a brilliant Viking education programme that saw the children learning more about:

1 - Vikings in Scandinavia

Using role-play the children were welcomed into a Viking house where they investigated Viking food, clothing and social hierarchy.

  1. Vikings in Ireland

The children undertook an archaeological dig, uncovering Viking artefacts and finding out about the people who once owned them.

  1. Vikings Designer Workshop

The children learned how Vikings designed and produced different types of jewellery and armour. Pupils then made their own Viking object to take home.
